Spring is a beautiful time to spruce things up. No different in my little corner of God’s wonderful springtime world either. There is a need to freshen up Buddy’s Corner- you may have thought I’d been a little lackadaisical and there is truth to that, but we have been on the "ministry trail” and I finally have time to share some wonderful fresh thoughts from God’s never failing word.

This is a good time to freshen up our faith. We know in God’s word that He said "Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.” You can find this in Hebrews Chapt. 11 vs 1. We know when we have faith, but have you ever tried to describe your faith to someone else? That conversation may go something like this: Well how do you know you are saved? The Bible clearly states we will in Romans 10:9-13, if you will confess with your mouth and believe in your heart…… whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved". How about going to heaven are you sure you will? God’s word says in Romans 6:23, "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." We remind them in Eph. 2:8-9 " It is by grace you are saved, through faith – and it is not from yourselves, it a the gift of God – not by works so that no one can boast." It’s all about faith in the unseen God in heaven that is preparing a place for us if we will accept Him through the eyes of faith!!

Faith is to realize or make real the things of the world unseen. I have heard faith called the "eye of your soul". Just as your natural eyes see those things around you – the outward things – the eye of your soul looks upon the heavenly truths and sees them as clearly and makes them, through faith, as real as all you survey with your natural eyes. There is absolutely no doubt you see the amazing wonders of the world around you just as there is no doubt that God is ever present, our savior died for our sins and the Holy Spirit dwells in our hearts. Just as your eyes keep the worldly things in clear view, faith makes the heavenly truths real to our soul. Faith keeps them ever present to us and always in constant view during our daily walk upon this earth.

1 Corth.1:20 says "Has God not made foolish the wisdom of the world?" How much can you trust in the wisdom of this life? Very little, but remember what King Solomon said and he was the wisest that has ever lived in Ecc 11:1 "cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days." I encourage you cast your faith upon the situation and call those things forth that are not as though they are. Let the wisdom of the world say it can’t happen for a child of God. Through faith we are healed, we are delivered from the snares of the enemy and the wicked, we are restored all in the name of Jesus, through our Faith. True faith leads you on forever on without fear or doubt.

Let’s, for a moment, examine examples of great faith:

Abel: Offered a more excellent offing or sacrifice to God – he was faithful in his sacrifice although it cost him his life.

Enoch: He pleased God and was translated home – God actually changed the order of life and death. He cheated death and was translated to heaven after a long life, 365 years of faith – how good is it to please God and hold steadfast to your faith?? In Enoch’s case you sure can’t argue can you??

Noah: What can you say steadfast in faith to God – he was patient, earnest and careful to do exactly what God told him – constant in his faith.

Abraham: He fell short a couple times with too much wine and again with Abimelach and Sarah when he left out a small detail to the king that Sarah was married – oh yea married to Abraham. He wasn’t perfect nor are we, but his faith carry him and Israel through the Red Sea, Desert and brought back his son Isaac from the alter. Onward in faith was the act of the whole man with unshaken faith in God’s word.

Sarah: Followed the servant of God and after 91 years God filled her barren womb with a child – faith!

Joseph: Sold into slavery, rags to riches to rags and back again – never lost sight of god’s promise or lessened his faith.

Their faith was so exemplary that we are still discussing it even today! How about your faith? Are you holding on and believing by faith or listening to the wisdom of the world? In my little corner of God’s beautiful world I am freshening up my commitment this spring to hold on tighter, fight even harder and speak it even louder that my faith in Jesus Christ is unshakable. There is no better time to evaluate what you believe in and trusting upon. What is the eye of your soul focused on?

In His service,

Buddy
